Examples of SOME Communication Errors

  1. Any questions not attempted.
  2. Not reducing fractions.
  3. Not placing round brackets around an ordered pair.
  4. Missing a dot above an equal sign when the answer is approximated.
  5. An unclear diagram or labeling.
  6. Not rounding an answer off correctly as asked.
  7. Failure to write in the units for any measurement.
  8. Missing 'Let statement' in a word problem.
  9. Missing 'Therefore statement' in a word problem.
  10. Failure to label axes or scales on graphs.
  11. Failure to label equation of the graph.
  12. Spelling errors.
  13. Failure to use the variable consistently and correctly.
  14. Illegible handwriting.
  15. Insufficient explanation as to how the answer was obtained.
  16. Equal signs not lined up (vertical and straight).
  17. Incorrect use of brackets.
  18. Incorrect writing of exponents (powers)
  19. Not using { } brackets around a domain or range or stating .
  20. An angle of a traingle not properly labeled ( rather than simply if not obvious-more than 1 angle Ps).
  21. Writing an approximate answer when an exact answer is required.
