Ex 1 Graph y = |x| by graphing y = x and then interpreting what the absolute value does to the graph.
In y = a|x – c| + d, a, c, d do the usual things
but in y = |bx|, b does almost the same thing as a
Consider y = 2|x| vs y = |2x|
y = 2|x| is y = |x| with a vertical stretch of 2
y = |2x| the absolute value of y = 2x, which has a vertical stretch of 2
