Objectives

The objective or goals of this course are for students to:

-gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of new media and multimedia journalism

-gain the journalistic skills needed to report, write, edit, and publish on the internet

-gain the skills needed to write, report, film, edit, and produce a broadcast piece

-be able to present multimedia stories in innovative ways while maintaining traditional journalism standards of fairness, accuracy and quality.

-gain software and hardware skills needed to be an effective new media journalist
