Students will apply to the program in February of their Grade 10 year. It is important that students discuss their intention to enrol in the Environmental Studies Program (ELP) with their guidance councilor and/or one of the teacher contacts for the ELP.

Students considering applying to the ELP should familiarize themselves with the program requirements and ensure enrolment in the designated courses can be fulfilled in their senior years at Colonel By Secondary School.

Please note: the demands of the Environmental Leadership Program require that students commit themselves to becoming leaders in all areas of life at Colonel By Secondary School. Students must understand that choices made every day at school reflect their suitability for participation in field camps, on outdoor education trips and on out-of-province and international excursions. Participation in the program may be jeopardized if sufficient evidence exists that an individual's behavior and decision-making patterns are a liability, safety risk, or adverse to the education environment in the program.
