INDICATORS

Level 1

• raw data should be handed in with the lab, as originally recorded (as an attachment, not formalized)

Level 2

• in most cases it is required to formally present raw data.

Level 3

• units and uncertainty must be recorded where necessary.
• data should be recorded in such a way as to allow for unambiguous easy interpretation (data presented in the form of a table is often the clearest)

Level 4

• Any qualitative observation that could be considered in an argument, discussion, question or conclusion should be recorded in the data collection section. For example if your argument indicates error could have been introduced by friction in the front left wheel of a cart, then an observation should be indicated in the observation section of the report that there is a squeaky front left wheel on the cart.
• Superfluous observations are not necessary.
