INDICATORS

Level 1

• The lab report contains a hypotheisis.

Level 2

• The hypothesis must be susinct, specific and testable.

Level 3

• Appropriate dependanat and independant variables must be selected and identified which will test the research question.
• The hypothesis must;
  • be authentic by predicting what you expect will happen (not be a description of what did happen).
  • be reasonable, with a justification of why the prediction was made.

Level 4

• Appropriate control variables must be selected and identified.
• The hypothesis is explained and the explanation is
  • based on scientific principles
  • not absolute, should be open to the idea of investigation and testing.
  • should be in the 'future' tense
