ESTABLISHING A CLIENTS ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS - ASSESSMENT RUBRIC

REPORT CONTENT & DESIGN REQUIREMENTS	A report is submitted with all required sections completed.	Level 1+ There is sufficient design information to begin design of a home or cottage.	Level 1&2+ There is description about the features that the client would like. A survey plan sketch or the site is included. The format of the document should be correct.	Level 1&2&3+ There is evidence of design interaction with the client indicating options or special features. Detail sketches of unique features are included.	14 marks

REPORT CONTENT & DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

Level 1

• The document must be word processed.

Level 2

• All sections should provide the requirements of the building, the uses of the building and the features of the site.

Level 3

• The format for the document should be correct. See example for heading, numbering and indentation requirements.
• The document should have a title page with the students(s) names, the client name(s) the title, date and a company name (optional).
• The site sketch must include the outer boundaries of the site, the elevation lines, the length of each boundary and any features such as existing roads, and lakes.

Level 4

• Texts in the class as well as the Internet or other sources provide information on any of the following examples of features that a client may desire; specific room design (kitchen, bathroom etc.) heating systems, sewage systems, home styles (Cape Cod, Gothic etc.), new materials, efficient design (traffic analysis), and or other special features (hot tubs, swimming pools, gardens, special rooms...etc.)
