FLOOR PLAN DESIGN LAYOUT (on a grid)	There are sketches done on a grid for each level fo the structure.	Level 1+ Building should be a suitable size. Stairs and supporting structure should allign vertically between floors.	Level 1&2+ Kitchen and Bathroom size and location of fixtures and appliances should be well thought out.	Level 1&2&3+ Areas are clustered. Significant thoughthas gone into detail design. Wasted space is minimal. Traffic flow and spacial proximity are optimized. Features of the house design are integrated and efficient.	12 marks

FLOOR PLAN DESIGN LAYOUT (on a grid)

Level 1

• The sketch should show the location of the rooms, doors, windows, and stairs.

Level 3

•  Check "Design for Residential Construction" By Crunden and Cosyn for detail about bathroom, kitchen garage and other room design.

Level 4

• Utility, Living, Entrance and Steeping areas should be grouped together. Efficient design often has 'wet' or noisy areas grouped and alligned vertically.
• Long halls are often wasted space. Use closets as noise barriers. Make sure space is efficiently used and cponstruced in the least costly manner.
• A traffic flow analysis may reveal areas which are not in a suitable proximity to one another. Often structural features of a house can be integrated with other features (like a fireplace) so that the utility of the structure may go unoticed.
