SKETCHES	There are at least four rough sketches of logos	Level 1 + Series of sketches show design progression.	Level 1&2+ Concepts should attempt to convey the requirements given in the design brief. FINAL SUBMISSION	A final logo selection has been made and is presented.	Level 1 + The final presentation of the logo is in accordance with the requirements of the design brief.	Level 1&2+ A brief description or explanation is included.	Level 1&2&3 + Judged to be particularly excellent.	12 marks

INDICATORS

SKETCHES

Level 1

• Sketches should be different enough from each other to categorize them as four different concepts. Sketches can be rough.

Level 2

• Each concept should be a result of a series of sketches (which display improvements or show attempts to develop the concept to its final form). Keep all sketches even if they are written on your lunch bag.

Level 3

• Do the logo sketches attempt to provide the appropriate feeling or mood indicated in the design brief? Are the logos of the appropriate type? Are they suitable, reasonable?

Level 4

• It is desirable for a client to have several good ideas to choose from, even if the ideas are different. Providing the selection and reasonable explanations that they could use to help their selection is exemplary.

FINAL SUBMISSION

Level 1

• The logo is submitted for evaluation.

Level 2

• The logo itself meets the requirements of a thorough design brief.

Level 3

• The description may explain symbolism or how to interpret an abstract element. Perhaps why a feeling or mood may be evoked may be included. The length of the description may vary from a single sentince or phrase to a paragraph or more depending what is the most appropriate to 'frame your logo in its best light'.

Level 4

• This subjective review could be by peer evaluation, instructor evaluation or external judging by a 'client' or contest judge, or may be some combination of the three.
• Artwork should be "clean" and ready to reproduce with no additional work.
