INDICATORS

BILL OF MATERIAL

Level 1

• This is a simple list of parts required often broken down by system.

Level 2

• Each part in the project should have a part number.
• Make/buy decisions should be completed

Level 3

• Most small detailed parts (i.e. hardware, connectors etc.) should be mentioned in the BOM
• Sourcing (purchasing) information for the buy parts should be included in the BOM for the buy parts.
• Raw material information should be included for the make parts.

Level 4

• The final BOM should be checked to make sure it matches the final drawing package.
• The final BOM should be checked to ensure it matches the final build of the project.
• Often this will be completed as web pages.
