INDICATORS

DESIGN SPECIFICATION

Level 1

• Students have defined the quantity of the work which will be required in the project. This should include a list of;
  • things which need to be designed
  • things which need to be constructed
• The scope should define what your project will include and what will be excluded.

Level 2

• The project should be analyzed or broken down into its systems or its parts, as well as broken down into a list of activities (work) required to complete the project.

Level 3

• A detailed list of what the project has to do should be included.

Level 4

• The interface of a project is the point at which the project "connects to" another project. This "connection" should be defined. The interface may include electrical power requirements and the type of connections, electrical signal details, mechanical connection details and any other details about how a project may interface with another project.
• A cost estimate is for materials only and should be completed on a spreadsheet.
