Printed Circuit Board Identification
- You need three items of information on the PCB itself; your
name (or a trademark representing yourself), the date, and the
filename of the Vectorworks file with the mask on it. If there is
not enough room for your name put enough to identify yourself. If
you make a PCB then modify it and make another one, then change
the filename and the filename on the PCB. It is important that the
mask on the file matches the actual part.
- The data should be put on the board according to the
following method.
- 12 point size (default) text is preferred but you must
use what will fit.
- Remember that you are designing the board as if you are
looking from the top. In order to read any text it must have
a horizontal flip.
- The text should be white on black background. That is
you etch the text from the copper.
- To accomplish the last two steps complete the
following; menu Text==>Style select Bold; Write the
text; menu Text ==> TrueType To Polyline: In
Attributes Pallet make pen and fill colour white; (at
this point it may be useful to put it over a black
background); menu Tool ==> Rotate, select Flip
Horizontal.
