Course Outline 2007/2008

This course examines communication systems and design and production processes in the area of electronic, live, recorded and graphic communications. Using the Adobe Production Studio Suite CS 2, it focuses on contemporary professional audio-visual multimedia productions from initial conception to final product distribution in a team setting.Specifically our units are:

• Audio recording and mixing using Adobe Audition 2.0

• Cinematography

• Basic digital video filming and editing using Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0

• Advanced video effects and 3-D compositing using Adobe After Effects 2.0

• Final output and production of DVDs using Abode Encore DVD 2.0

Evaluation of this course will be done according to Ontario Ministry guidelines using the following categories and weighting:

Knowledge and Understanding 17.5%
Thinking and Inquiry 17.5%
Application 17.5%
Communication 17.5%
Summative 30%
